Waste Contract Coordinator Manage essential waste service contracts while delivering efficient services that support resource recovery and waste reduction outcomes. Reporting to the Waste Team Leader, you will play a key role in managing Council’s waste contracts, budgets and service delivery while liaising with internal teams, contractors and the community in a professional and responsive manner. Shape Waste and Resource Recovery Outcomes: Support Council’s transition to a circular economy by improving services, systems and waste reduction initiatives. Work Across Council and Community: Collaborate with contractors, compliance staff, customer service teams and community members to resolve operational issues and improve service delivery. About the Role As the Waste Contract Coordinator, you will: Manage Council's waste collection, recycling, disposal and education contracts to achieve service, budget and performance outcomes. Monitor contractor performance and coordinate commercial waste services, dumped asbestos removals and illegal dumping programs. Investigate and resolve waste-related enquiries and service requests from residents, businesses and internal stakeholders. Analyse operational data and prepare reports to support waste audits, compliance obligations and service improvements. Identify operational issues and implement solutions to maintain high service standards and customer satisfaction. Develop and improve processes, systems and procedures to support efficient waste and resource recovery operations. Collaborate with Council teams, contractors and stakeholders to deliver responsive and effective waste services. Support Council's sustainability goals by reducing waste to landfill and increasing resource recovery outcomes. What You’ll Bring: Qualifications in contract management, business administration, environmental management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience. Current Class C Driver Licence Demonstrated experience in waste operations, contract management and contractor supervision. Sound knowledge of waste management, resource recovery and environmental sustainability principles. Strong customer service, communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and reporting capabilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook. A commitment to WHS and EEO principles. Desirable: Experience in Local Government and an understanding of relevant waste legislation, regulations and resource recovery practices.
