Commercial & Industrial Electrical

About the role This is a predominantly hands-on, on-the-tools role for an experienced electrician who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys dealing with customers, and is comfortable working independently or as part of a wider team. You will work across a variety of commercial and industrial electrical projects, reactive and planned maintenance, installations, fault finding and project work for our existing customer base. A key part of the role will also be building strong relationships with our customers. We want someone who takes the time to understand a customer's business, identifies additional work or improvements while on site, and can build the trust that leads to an ongoing relationship. About You We are looking for someone who: Has strong commercial and/or industrial electrical experience Is confident working independently and taking ownership of their own jobs Works well as part of a wider team when required Takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship Is reliable, organised and communicates professionally with customers Is comfortable assessing jobs and identifying what is required Has experience scoping and quoting electrical work Is good with customers and capable of building long-term relationships Has the commercial awareness to identify additional work and opportunities while on site While this is primarily a hands-on electrical role, we would particularly value someone who can develop strong relationships with customers and help grow the amount of work we undertake within our existing customer base . The ability to introduce new customers or opportunities through word of mouth or an existing industry network would also be an advantage. Key responsibilities Install, maintain and repair commercial and industrial electrical systems Carry out reactive and planned electrical maintenance Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults Complete commercial installations, upgrades and repairs Read and interpret plans, schematics and technical documentation Work independently and take ownership of jobs from start to completion Work alongside other electricians, maintenance technicians and trades where required Scope and prepare quotes for electrical work Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial customers Identify additional work, improvements and opportunities while on site About you NZ Registered Electrician with a current practising licence Strong commercial and/or industrial electrical experience Proven fault-finding and problem-solving ability Experience with switchboards, wiring systems and commercial installations Experience with quoting and estimating electrical work is highly desirable HVAC electrical experience would be beneficial but is not essential Ability to work effectively without constant supervision Strong communication and customer relationship skills Commercial awareness and the ability to recognise opportunities for additional work Full NZ driver's licence Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Company vehicle, mobile phone and uniform Variety of commercial and industrial work Established commercial customer base Full admin, scheduling and operational support Opportunity to work independently while still having the support of a wider team A positive and supportive working environment Long-term opportunity within a growing electrical business
