Utility Locator

Due to our continued growth and pipeline of projects, we are looking for a motivated and experienced Utility Locator to join our expanding team on a full-time basis. This role will be supporting project teams in providing project owners with critical data for a diverse range of infrastructure projects. The role is based in Melbourne, and will involve occasional travel, night shift and weekend work as required. Key responsibilities: Conduct underground utility locating investigations using electromagnetic detection equipment to accurately identify underground services Inspection of pits including removing pit lids to measure asset dimensions Undertake comprehensive site surveys and produce detailed reports on the location and depth of underground services using GPS survey equipment Consult with clients, project teams and other stakeholders to provide technical expertise on the position of subsurface assets Read and interpret Before You Dig plans, and other technical drawings and project specifications Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders through clear communication, responsiveness and quality service delivery To be successful in this role you will have: A minimum of 2 year's experience in utility locating Strong technical skills and the ability to interpret complex underground service plans and drawings Solid understanding of subsurface asset mapping and AS5488 Classification of Subsurface Utility Information Ability to interpret BYDA drawings High level of written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills CERTLOC Certified Locator Hold a valid Driver's Licence Valid Construction Induction Card Bonus Points: Utility survey experience Rail Industry Worker Card (RIW) First Aid What we offer: A positive and inclusive team environment with a safety-first culture Opportunities for professional development and career progression Competitive salary If you enjoy being part of a supportive team with an opportunity to grow, we would love to hear from you!
