Industrial Electrician / Electrical Service Technician Mechanical and Pumping Systems | Greymouth Prime Fluid Management is looking for a qualified Industrial Electrician or Electrical Service Technician to join our Greymouth workshop. Applicants must hold a relevant electrical qualification and current registration with the New Zealand Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB). About the Role This is a varied, hands-on position combining electrical work with mechanical servicing and repairs. Initially, most of the role will involve mechanical work while you develop your knowledge of pumps and pumping systems. You’ll strip and rebuild pumps, replace bearings and seals, assemble equipment, diagnose faults and test completed repairs. Your electrical skills will also be used for fault-finding, testing, motors and controls within the scope of your EWRB registration. This role would suit someone who enjoys working with machinery and wants to develop both electrical and mechanical expertise. Key Responsibilities Service, repair and maintain pumps and related equipment Strip and rebuild pumps and mechanical components Replace bearings, seals and other parts Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults Work with electric motors, controls and driven equipment Assemble and test pumping systems Assist with installations and commissioning Travel occasionally for servicing, installations and breakdown support What You’ll Need A relevant electrical qualification Current EWRB registration Electrical fault-finding and diagnostic experience Practical ability and confidence using tools An interest in mechanical repair and maintenance A willingness to complete hands-on mechanical work A positive, practical and team-focused attitude A current New Zealand driver license Experience with industrial machinery, motors, controls, maintenance or field service would be useful but is not essential. Pump experience is not required—we’ll provide training and support to help you develop your mechanical and pumping knowledge. Why Join Prime?
