2-Month Assistant Accountant contract. Immediate start. Support a busy finance team through year-end reporting We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join a well-established organisation on a temporary basis for approximately two months. This role has arisen due to the ill health of a senior team member and will provide additional support to ensure critical year-end reporting deadlines are met. This is a hands-on accounting position suited to someone with previous Assistant Accountant, Financial Accountant, or broader finance experience who enjoys working with reconciliations, reporting, analysis and general ledger activities. Key responsibilities include: Preparing year-end Excel workbooks and supporting financial reporting activities Running debtor and creditor system reports Completing balance sheet reconciliations Ensuring on-charge accounts balance accurately Preparing and posting reclassification journals Investigating intercompany account variances Analysing and transferring Work in Progress (WIP) Creating fixed assets from general ledger transactions Assisting with ad hoc finance tasks as required About you: To be successful in this role, you will bring: An Accounting degree or Accounting Technician qualification Previous experience in an accounting or assistant accountant position Strong Excel skills, including the use of formulas such as VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs and data analysis functions Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities The ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive working relationships What's in it for you?
