We have a great opportunity within our Invercargill Workshop team for a qualified Automotive Mechanic. This is a Full Time position working 40 hours per week. Kinetic is a global passenger transport Company across Australasia, the UK, Europe and Asia with bus and rail operations keeping people moving and cities and communities connected. Across New Zealand with over 4,500 staff, you’ll find Kinetic bus operations delivering metro urban services in Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Tauranga and Wellington and through Go Bus, our regional bus brand, in urban, school and charter services across most of the rest of the country. Kinetic also operates the highly successful and prestigious Johnston’s coach services and SkyBus airside transport services at Auckland International Airport. Our well-equipped Invercargill Workshop is situated on site at the Invercargill Depot and covers maintenance and repairs on our Urban, Schools, SESTA and Charter vehicles. Automotive Mechanic position: We are seeking a motivated, qualified mechanic with heavy diesel experience to join our team of experience Mechanics in our Invercargill workshop. This role would suit either a seasoned mechanic or someone new in their career who is looking for the opportunity to grow within a small, tight-knit team. Major functions: • Ensuring that servicing and repairs on our modern fleet of cars, vans and buses are carried out to a high standard. • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues. • Keeping accurate records and ensuring compliance is met. • Meeting health and safety obligations. • Mentoring apprentices where applicable. Skills/Experience required: • Great team player with good communication skills. • Ability to self-manage and work to a high standard. • Trade qualified Automotive Mechanic. Our recruitment process includes a Drug and Alcohol test and a Ministry of Justice check. Applicants for this position must be a New Zealander or have Permanent Residency.
