KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Commercial & Strategic Distribution Serve as the primary Hong Kong liaison for regional sub-distributors, local agencies, and vendors, ensuring strict alignment on theatrical release strategies, box office targets, and marketing KPIs. Collaborate with co-distributors and strategic partners to maximize film rental structures and optimize revenue share. Negotiate and finalize distribution agreements and commercial terms with cinema circuits and independent exhibitors across Southeast Asia. Maintain and cultivate strong relationships with regional cinema partners to ensure the seamless execution of theatrical releases. Market Intelligence & Analytics Conduct comprehensive market research and box office data analysis to identify industry trends and provide accurate box office forecasting for content acquisitions. Monitor and evaluate daily box office performance and show counts across regional exhibitors to assess market traction and adjust strategies dynamically. Prepare and distribute sophisticated box office reports for internal stakeholders and external licensors. Operations, Logistics & Risk Management Coordinate with the materials team and scheduling of DCPs and KDMs to regional exhibitors. Implement and monitor anti-piracy protocols for theatrical releases, sneak previews, and fan screenings across the SEA region. Manage and navigate local censorship regulations for each target market, overseeing the complete submission and approval process. Coordinate the localized translation, subtitling, and dubbing workflows for feature films with materials team to ensure absolute quality and accuracy. Oversee the production, logistics, and delivery of promotional assets, including cinema domination materials, standees, and localized premium giveaways. Partner with internal marketing teams to develop, submit, and execute comprehensive theatrical release plans. Maintain an updated, accurate database of regional cinema infrastructure, demographic data, and market-specific ticket pricing. Drive and assist in the flawless execution of high-profile gala events, premieres, special fan screenings, and promotional activations. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in movie distribution or a related entertainment field. Direct experience managing the Southeast Asian market is highly preferred. Proven sales and/or marketing track record, paired with a genuine passion for and deep knowledge of anime, feature films, and pop culture/gaming. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin). Proficiency in Japanese is a distinct advantage. Exceptional organizational skills with a proven track record of meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A proactive team player possessing strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Proficient in data analysis tools and highly skilled in creating executive-ready PowerPoint presentations. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-energy environment, with the willingness to work flexible hours and travel regionally as required to support key releases.
