About Us Reid Fruits is one of Tasmania’s largest cherry growers and exporters and has operated for over 170 years, both in apples and cherries. The Role We are looking for an enthusiastic farmhand for our Huon Valley cherry orchards, ideally with experience and the knowledge of orchard activities, but we would also be willing to train the right less experienced person under an apprenticeship. As a key member of our team, you must have a strong work ethic, positive attitude and the ability to follow instructions and use your initiative whilst adhering to high safety standards. The role will involve but not be limited to: Tractor operations, which include spraying, mowing and herbicide applications. Repair and maintenance of irrigation systems and other farm equipment Tree planting and pruning Bird net repairs General agricultural work The role is located in the Huon Valley, Tasmania and the successful applicant must have a full unrestricted driver’s licence.
