JOB OVERVIEW GIA Hong Kong Campus is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and resourceful individual to join the Education Department as an Instructor/Associate Instructor. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about education, mentoring, and delivering an exceptional student experience within a diverse, multicultural environment. Candidates with less experience or qualifications may be considered for the Associate Instructor position. This role provides both instructional and administrative support, offering hands-on training and a clear pathway toward a full Instructor position. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Instruction & Student Engagement Deliver high-quality instruction for GIA programs, courses, corporate trainings, and seminars using all corresponding instruments and equipment as is necessary Present course and training material effectively in alignment with GIA’s standards, integrity, and global reputation Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and culturally sensitive learning environment Provide constructive feedback and academic guidance to support student success Address student concerns and escalate issues appropriately to the School Director or relevant stakeholders Assessment & Academic Administration Proctor examinations and evaluate student assignments accurately and promptly Maintain and submit student grades and attendance records in accordance with institutional timelines Ensure all academic records are complete, accurate, and properly documented Operational & Administrative Support Support day-to-day administrative and school functions as needed Assist with classroom setup and ensure facilities meet GIA standards for effective learning Participate in departmental meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives Maintain accurate records of working hours, travel, and related administrative reporting (e.g., Workday entries) Support student services as required Collaboration & Communication Foster effective communication and collaboration with colleagues, students, and management Contribute to a positive and professional team environment Interact professionally under pressure while maintaining high service standards EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Graduate Gemologist (GG) diploma (mandatory) is required Completion of Form 6 or above; university degree preferred Prior experience in the jewelry trade or education sector is advantageous Proficiency in English and Cantonese is required; Mandarin is an asset TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Advanced knowledge of gemstones, diamonds, and gemological identification techniques Proficiency in the use of gemological equipment Strong understanding of the jewelry industry and current trends Ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively in an instructional setting Strong classroom management and student engagement skills Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment High level of cultural awareness and sensitivity Strong written and verbal communication skills Participate in domestic and international travel frequently for instructional assignments, as required WORK HOURS Normal working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm with one hour lunch break Shift-based schedule, including weekend, day and evening classes, as required "We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
