About the role We are recruiting a Financial Controller (Property Developer) to join us in Johor Bahru, Johor on a full-time basis . This is a strategic financial leadership position that will play a crucial role in overseeing all financial operations and reporting for our property development business. You will be responsible for maintaining financial integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing senior management with accurate financial insights to support business decisions. This role offers significant scope to influence financial strategy and control frameworks across our property development operations. Key responsibilities Oversee all financial accounting operations, including general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, and monthly financial close processes Prepare and present accurate financial statements, management accounts, and financial reports to senior management and stakeholders on a timely basis Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards, tax regulations, and other statutory requirements relevant to property development Manage and monitor project accounting for multiple property development projects, including cost tracking, revenue recognition, and project profitability analysis Develop and implement effective financial control systems, policies, and procedures to safeguard company assets Conduct budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making Supervise and mentor accounting and finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth audits and compliance reporting Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies within the finance function Support business development initiatives through financial analysis and feasibility studies on potential projects What we're looking for Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MIA or other professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is required Minimum 7-10 years of experience in financial management, with substantial experience in property development or construction industries Strong expertise in project accounting, revenue recognition under accounting standards, and cost management specific to property development Proven track record of leading accounting teams and managing finance functions in medium to large organization In-depth knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting requirements Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of presenting financial information to both finance and non-finance audiences Integrity and attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of financial control and governance Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams What we offer We are committed to supporting our employees' professional growth and wellbeing.
