About us Racecourse Projects is a large scale established sugar cane company based in the Mackay region, farming over 5,000 ha of cane land, delivering cane to Mackay Sugar and Wilmar Sugar. We have an opportunity for an experienced Laser Bucket / Tractor Operator to join our team on a full-time basis. The position will work across our farming operations, including Blue Mountain, Marwood and Rangeview . The Role You will be a key part of the farming operations team, undertaking precision earthworks, tractor operations and general farm duties across our properties. The role will suit an experienced machinery operator who takes pride in their work, has good attention to detail and is willing to work across different farm locations as required. Key Responsibilities · Operate laser bucket and tractor machinery safely and efficiently · Undertake laser levelling, earthworks and other farm preparation activities · Operate tractors and related agricultural machinery · Conduct general farm and property maintenance as required · Assist with irrigation and other farming activities · Basic maintenance and breakdown diagnosis, repair or referral for repairs and maintenance for all plant and equipment · Ensure all work practices are conducted in a safe manner in line with relevant legislative requirements · Additionally, you may be required to conduct other duties as required The experience we’re looking for · Previous experience operating a laser bucket · Previous tractor and agricultural machinery operating experience · Experience in sugar cane or broad acre farming preferred · Good mechanical knowledge or relevant experience with agricultural machinery preferred · Ability and willingness to work across Blue Mountain, Marwood and Rangeview · Minimum of Queensland C class driver’s licence · Strong commitment to safety, quality and attention to detail What’s in it for you · Attractive hourly rate and excellent earning potential · Full-time employment · Variety of work across multiple farming operations · Opportunity to work with modern agricultural machinery and technology · Be part of a great team who take pride in their work · Commute from Mackay or surrounding areas, DIDO or residential options available · Lifestyle!!
