Service & Workshop Manager – New Plymouth Join a growing team delivering industry‑leading service across RV, auto‑electrical, mechanical and installation work. We're looking for an experienced and hands‑on Service & Workshop Manager to lead our New Plymouth workshop. If you’re a natural organiser, a confident technical leader, and someone who builds a positive, high‑performing team culture, this is a rare opportunity to step into a pivotal role within a fast‑growing business. About the Role As our Service & Workshop Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the workshop — ensuring safe, efficient, high‑quality repair, service and installation outcomes for our customers, insurers, and partners. You will take ownership of: Daily workflow, bookings, scheduling and job allocation Accurate estimating/quoting and insurer communication Technical guidance across auto‑electrical, mechanical and RV systems Parts coordination and workshop administration Workshop P&L drivers, cost control and performance reporting Leading, developing and supporting a talented technical team Maintaining a safe, tidy and compliant workshop environment This is a role for someone who thrives on variety, problem‑solving, customer communication and keeping a busy operation running smoothly. What You’ll Bring A relevant trade qualification 3+ years’ post‑qualification experience in a workshop environment Strong technical understanding — auto‑electrical, mechanical or related Excellent communication skills; confident dealing with customers and insurers Proven ability to coach, train and lead a team Strong planning, documentation and workflow management skills Good computer literacy (CRM/job management systems, email, MS Office) A solutions‑focused mindset and high attention to detail Full Class 1 licence; comfortable driving larger vehicles and towing caravans Experience with RV systems, panel/paint processes, or NZ regulatory frameworks (electrical, gas, self‑containment) is an advantage — or we’ll support the right person to learn.
