Residential Building Code Consultant

THE ROLE Due to recent growth, our client is seeking an experienced Residential Building Code Consultant / Assistant Building Surveyor to join their residential division. This role offers the opportunity to work across diverse residential projects, with the flexibility of central office and hybrid working arrangements BENEFITS Flexible working arrangements to support work–life balance Central office location with easy accessibility Work within a respected boutique surveying consultancy with a strong industry reputation Professional development opportunities and ongoing mentorship Collaborative team culture with exposure to diverse residential projects DUTIES Review documentation and issue building permits Manage projects from commencement to completion Carry out inspections and compliance audits Attend meetings both online and in-person Liaise with councils, clients, contractors, authorities, and fire brigades Approve and prepare fee submissions and proposals Approve and issue invoicing Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships to ensure trust and service excellence Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and company processes Demonstrate strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines Actively contribute to a team-focused and collaborative environment ABOUT YOU Experience in residential building surveying or building code consultancy Understanding of relevant building codes, legislation, and compliance requirements Strong communication and client engagement skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively Team-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement THE COMPANY Our client is a well-established consulting firm with the capability to act as either ‘Statutory Building Surveyor/Certifier’ or ‘Consulting Building Surveyor/Certifier’.
