The opportunity - Te āheinga We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Turf Field Staff member to join our Parks and Open Spaces team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing turf areas across the district, working as part of our Turf Maintenance Team to deliver scheduled maintenance activities to a high standard. You’ll play an important part in presenting safe, attractive and well-maintained public spaces for the community, while also assisting with graffiti removal and fly-tipping to help keep our district clean and welcoming. Key responsibilities - Ngā haepapa matua Ensure all health and safety directions/instructions are followed Carry out turf management work as scheduled/directed Engage with the public and provide a quality customer service Utilise resources effectively Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation Essential skills and experience - Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako Field experience in the maintenance of Parks and Reserves that may include but not be limited to cemeteries, horticulture, arboriculture, and/or turf culture Full Class 1 driver’s licence, Class 2 (or working towards) General fitness at a level to be able to cope with the demands of the job A passion for horticulture and the outdoors Why Taranaki? - He aha ngā hua o te rohe nei?
