The opportunity - Te āheinga We have an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity for a Turf Field Staff - Spraying team member to join our Parks and Open Spaces team. Reporting to the Turf Supervisor, you'll be part of a dedicated team of 10 turf specialists responsible for maintaining some of the district's most valued sports grounds, parks and open spaces. With a strong focus on spraying and turf health, you'll carry out the safe application of agrichemicals and assist with a range of turf maintenance activities. This is a hands-on role where you'll contribute to creating high-quality playing surfaces and attractive green spaces that can be enjoyed by the whole community. Key responsibilities - Ngā haepapa matua Ensure all health and safety directions and instructions are followed Carry out turf management work as scheduled and directed Assist with activities including graffiti management, rubbish removal and mowing support Engage with the public and provide a quality customer service Utilise resources effectively Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation Essential skills and experience - Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako Field experience in the maintenance of parks and reserves that may include but not limited to cemeteries, horticulture, arboriculture, and/or turf culture Full Class 1 driver's licence, Class 2 (or working towards) General fitness at a level to be able to cope with the demands of the job A passion for horticulture and the outdoors Why Taranaki? - He aha ngā hua o te rohe nei?
