Farm Manager

About the role Reporting directly to the owner, the Farm Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of livestock, pastures, cropping activities, staff, infrastructure, and farm operations. You will lead all aspects of the farming operation and oversee a herd of approximately 1,000 purebred Angus breeding cows. Key responsibilities Managing the farm's purebred Angus breeding herd Planning and overseeing fodder production and cropping operations Implementing pasture management and grazing programs Managing and supervising farm staff and contractors Maintaining farm infrastructure, including fencing, water systems, yards, roads, machinery, and sheds Overseeing maintenance and operation of vehicles and farm equipment Managing relationships with livestock, agronomy, veterinary, financial, and other specialist advisors Monitoring farm performance and contributing to operational planning and budgeting About you At least five years' experience managing a commercial livestock enterprise Experience with cropping and fodder production programs Proven staff leadership and management skills Excellent organisational and communication abilities Sound machinery operation and maintenance knowledge Practical problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach A commitment to animal welfare, safety, and sustainable farming practices A valid driver's licence and chemcert A strong work ethic and positive attitude About us Ellendon Farm is a highly regarded 3,000-hectare cattle property located near Bungendore, NSW.
