Athletic HQ is a semi-private strength training studio in Blackburn. Our clients are mostly women over 45 who train with us to build muscle, protect their bone density and stay strong as they get older. It's steady, considered coaching work. We're a team of four experienced coaches. We enjoy the work, we take coaching seriously as a craft, and we spend a lot of time helping each other get better at it. The role We're adding a part-time coach to the team. You'd be coaching our semi-private (3:1) and small group (8:1) strength sessions, working alongside the rest of us with clients we provide. There's no sales component to the job. The practical details: Permanent part-time, approx. [10–20] hours/week. If you're studying, we're happy to build the roster around your timetable, exams and placements $70,000–$80,000 pro rata inclusive of super. Pro rata means the full-time salary is scaled to your actual hours. A structured start: you shadow first, then co-coach, then lead your own sessions once you're ready A weekly one-on-one mentoring session with a head coach, paid, as a standing part of the role A review at 90 days, with a genuine path to more hours over time Who this suits You'll need a Cert III/IV in Fitness and current First Aid/CPR, plus some real coaching experience, whether that's group classes, 1:1 PT, or a few years on a gym floor. Beyond that, we're open on background. An exercise science student who wants their floor work to connect with their study would fit well here. So would an experienced coach who's had enough of big-box gyms and wants a smaller room, more depth and a team around them. The honest fit test: our clients are training for strength and long-term health, not weight loss or race prep. If your favourite part of coaching is helping someone lift well and seeing their progress over months, you'll like it here. If you're after a high-energy class environment, we're probably not the right gym, and that's okay. How to apply Email athletichq@gmail.com with a short note. No formal cover letter needed, just answer these three things: Where you're at in your coaching journey, and what got you into coaching A client or class you've coached that you're proud of, and what you did A woman in her mid-50s joins us wanting to protect her bone density and build muscle. How would you think about her first three months? We reply to every application within 48 hours.
