Cadet / Junior Estimator

About the role A Cadet / Junior Estimator position with a Civil and Retaining Wall contractor based in South East Queensland. This role is ideal for someone with basic estimating experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and a positive, can-do attitude who is keen to grow within the civil construction industry. Key responsibilities Review and interpret drawings and tender documentation Assist in preparing BOQs, take-offs and tender submissions Measure quantities using AutoCAD and CostX Support the Senior Estimator in analysing scope, risks and pricing Assist with tender schedules, letters of offer and amendments Liaise with clients and internal teams during the tender process Attend site inspections as required to assist with tender understanding About you Some experience or strong interest in estimating (civil background preferred) Would suit a 2nd year Under Graduate in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying Estimating or Construction Management Have a minimum of 1 years experience in CAD and Quantity Surveying is preferred Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel Basic knowledge of estimating processes and quantity take-offs CostX experience is an advantage but not essential Methodical, organised and able to meet deadlines Strong communication skills and a positive attitude Willingness to learn and work in a hands-on environment About us We are a successful Civil and Retaining Wall contractor based in South East Queensland.
