Casual Operations Assistant - Maintenance

Northern Victoria Livestock Exchanges (NVLX) is the largest cattle selling centre in Victoria with recorded throughput in excess of 253,000 head of cattle in 2006-2007 and a ten year throughput average in excess of 205,000. Responsibilities: Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on site assets including equipment, machinery to ensure optimal functionality. Facility Repairs: Address and resolve infrastructure and mechanical issues to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for livestock. Preventative Maintenance: Implement preventative measures to minimise downtime and extend the lifespan of plant and equipment and facility infrastructure. Job Requirements: Proven experience in plant and equipment maintenance. Light fabrication and welding experience. Knowledge of plant and equipment such as loaders, tractors, feed mixers Knowledge of pumps and livestock watering systems. Previous experience operating a skid steer and telehandler. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Willingness to work in a dynamic, challenging and rewarding environment.
