Site Construction Manager

Location: Coleambally, NSW Roster: Monday to Friday Contract Duration: Initial 18-24-month engagement with potential extension We are seeking an experienced Site Construction Manager to act as the lead owner-side representative for the delivery of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project connected to Substation. As a key member of the project team, you will provide on-site leadership, construction oversight and stakeholder coordination throughout the execution phase, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant project delivery. Key Responsibilities Lead all owner-side site construction management and oversight activities. Coordinate EPC contractors, OEMs, Owner's Engineer representatives, Network Service Providers and other project stakeholders. Monitor contractor compliance with project specifications, permits, approvals, management plans and contractual requirements. Oversee site safety, quality, schedule performance and construction progress. Review project schedules, lookaheads, milestones, progress updates and recovery plans. Facilitate construction and interface coordination meetings. Maintain accurate site records, daily diaries, photographic evidence and progress documentation. Support contract administration activities including variations, progress claims, issue management and project correspondence. Identify and escalate safety, quality, schedule, commercial and stakeholder risks. Oversee quality assurance processes including inspections, ITPs, ITRs, hold points, witness points and defect management. Support HSE audits, inspections, toolbox talks and contractor compliance activities. Assist with commissioning, testing, energisation, punch-list closure and final handover activities. Essential Requirements Significant experience in a Construction Manager, Site Manager, Senior Site Representative, Superintendent Representative, Owner's Representative or similar leadership role. Demonstrated success delivering major renewable energy, BESS, transmission, substation, utilities, resources or infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of owner-side construction delivery models and project governance. Experience coordinating civil, electrical, HV, substation and commissioning activities. Strong knowledge of construction quality systems including ITPs, hold points, witness points, inspections and defect management. Strong construction planning, sequencing and programme management capability. Proven stakeholder and contractor interface management experience. Excellent reporting and communication skills, including progress reporting, meeting minutes and risk escalation. Strong commitment to HSE and safe project delivery. Current Australian Driver's Licence. Construction White Card. Highly Desirable Utility-scale BESS project experience. Renewable energy project experience across battery storage, solar, wind, transmission or grid connection projects. Previous owner-side or principal-side construction management experience. Experience supporting commissioning, energisation and project handover activities.
