Job Summary Run the day-to-day finance operations, manage and lead the existing finance team of six personnel, oversee timely closing and reporting, review cash and treasury activities, ensure compliance and internal control execution, and escalate critical matters to the Malaysia Group FM or Group CFO. Key Responsibilities 1. Daily Finance Operations & Team Management · Plan, allocate and monitor daily, weekly and monthly finance work across the team and ensure appropriate coverage during leave. · Supervise and guide the 6-man finance team in daily operations including AP, AR, GL, and reporting functions. Review team deliverables and ensure deadlines are met with high accuracy. Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and performance feedback to finance team members. 2. Closing & Financial Reporting · Own and coordinate month-end closing, ensuring journals and schedules are completed and reviewed before the agreed closing deadline. · Review P&L, Balance Sheet, reporting pack and material balance-sheet schedules. · Review accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, ROU assets, hire purchase/term loans, inventory and other significant closing schedules. · Ensure closing issues and abnormal variances are resolved or clearly escalated with action owners. 3. Cash, Treasury & Payment Control · Review daily fund positions, weekly cash flow summaries, payment forecasts and loan information. · Review bank reconciliations and ensure reconciling items are cleared promptly. · Verify payment vouchers, GIRO uploads and financing documentation within delegated authority before escalation/approval where required. · Identify short-term cash risks and propose actions to the Group FM. 4. AR / AP & Working Capital Oversight with the Accountant · Review weekly AR ageing, AP ageing, collection reports and payment planning before circulation. · Monitor collection performance, major overdue accounts, credit-control exceptions and unresolved billing/DO issues. · Drive cross-functional follow-up with Sales/CS/Purchasing where finance issues require operational action. · Review supplier and intercompany reconciliations and ensure aged differences are resolved. 5. Compliance, Audit & Controls · Oversee E-Invoice compliance and resolution of rejected/cancelled transactions within required timelines. · Review Sales & Service Tax (SST), Withholding Tax (WHT), import service tax (IST) and MIDA-related workings before escalation to the Group FM or external adviser. · Ensure finance document filing, audit trail, fixed-asset tagging and control procedures are maintained. · Coordinate audit schedules and day-to-day queries with the team and external parties. 6. Performance & Improvement · Review Amoeba, budget-versus-actual and other management reports prepared by the team and highlight operational issues. · Drive corrective actions for recurring accounting errors, late submissions and control gaps. · Support system enhancement, automation and process standardization initiatives led by the Group Finance Manager. Qualifications & Competencies Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business or related field; ACCA/CIMA qualification preferred. CPA/MIA membership is advantageous. Minimum 8 years relevant experience, including supervisory or managerial responsibility; external audit or manufacturing experience preferred. Strong knowledge of MFRS, SST, e-Invoice and Malaysian statutory compliance. Strong proficiency in Excel, accounting/ERP systems and AI application will be an added advantage.
