Primary Science Teacher (Part-time)

About the Role We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Primary Science Teacher to teach Year 1–5 students. You will spark curiosity through interactive, one-hour lessons covering foundational science topics such as light, sound, magnets, and elasticity. Responsibilities Teach engaging science lessons for classes of 30–32 young learners, supported by 1–2 teaching assistants. Help students master each daily topic through classroom discussions, interactive online games, and in-person activities. Guide hands-on crafts, from simple snap-on projects to more advanced snap-on circuits, to reinforce science concepts. Pace lessons effectively so students understand the topic and complete their crafts within each one-hour class. End every lesson with a clear recap of the key learning outcomes. What a typical one-hour lesson looks like Engage: introduce the topic with a quick game or interactive discussion. Build: guide students in making snap-on crafts or circuits. Connect: show how the craft demonstrates the science concept. Summarize: review the lesson’s key takeaways. Requirements Excellent spoken and written English. A valid Sexual Conviction Record Check (SCRC) is mandatory. Strong classroom-management skills. An energetic teaching style and the ability to explain basic science in a fun, accessible way. Schedule and logistics One-month engagement: 35 lessons in total. 3–4 days per week. 8:45 AM–12:05 PM, averaging three hours per day. All lesson materials, guides, and craft kits are provided. Flexibility is essential, as materials may be refined throughout the course to suit students’ needs. Pay: $500.00 per hour Work Location: In person
