About the role This role is to support the Finance function by managing day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting activities, including payments, reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination and financial reporting, while ensuring compliance with internal policies, statutory requirements and applicable accounting standards. The scope of work includes planning, preparing, analyzing and coordinating finance-related activities within the Orkim Group of Companies, covering accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury, taxation, financing and continuous process improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities: Manage day-to-day accounting activities and ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. Prepare with month-end and year-end closing, including preparation of relevant schedules and supporting documents. Assist in preparing periodic financial reports, management reports and accounting schedules. Ensure proper documentation and filing of accounting records in accordance with company policies and audit requirements. Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, including monitoring of actual expenditure against budget. Support the preparation of information and schedules required for internal and external audits and follow up on audit queries. Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, statutory requirements and internal financial policies. Assist with taxation, treasury and other finance-related activities as required. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls and operational efficiency. Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned by the Management. Assist in reviewing general ledger entries and conduct balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data integrity. Assess and apply technical accounting treatments for complex transactions (e.g., MFRS 16 Leases, MFRS 9 Financial Instruments, MFRS 15 Revenue, MFRS 116 Property, Plant and Equipment ). Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business and/or professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, MICPA, or equivalent) Minimum 1 or 2 years of working experience in relevant tasks Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations Proficiency in accounting or ERP software and solid skills in Microsoft Excel and other office productivity tools Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and the ability to maintain organized financial records and documentation Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and auditors Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and commitment to compliance with company policies and financial controls Prior experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable is a bonus Experience in shipping, logistics, or related industries is an advantage, as is familiarity with Malaysian financial and tax regulations
