About the role We are looking for an experienced AI Security Engineer to join our Information and Cyber Security team. This is a position of great responsibility that will report to the Head of Körber's Cyber Defense Center and the Head of Application Security. As an AI Security Engineer, you will play a vital role in building, securing, and operating AI platforms across cloud environments. You will define, implement, and enforce security controls within AI infrastructure, ensuring that security is not only designed but effectively configured, observable, and operational. You will support software architects and development teams by enabling secure integration of AI capabilities, ensuring that security considerations are embedded throughout the full lifecycle of AI-driven products and services. Key responsibilities Build, deploy, and operate AI platform security services across AWS and Azure cloud environments. Configure and manage AI inference services (e.g., AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry), including region control, private networking, guardrails, and model governance. Implement and operate API mediation and tool-access control layers (e.g., MCP), including allow-lists, validation mechanisms, and enforcement of data classification policies. Design and enforce identity and access management for AI workloads, ensuring least privilege, secure service identities, and non-human identity (NHI) patterns. Integrate telemetry, logging, and detection capabilities with SIEM systems to enable monitoring, alerting, and incident response workflows. Deploy and operate containerized AI workloads using Kubernetes (EKS/AKS), including GPU-based inference and self-hosted models. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines to ensure consistent, automated, and auditable platform delivery. Ensure platform observability, including monitoring, alerting, cost visibility, and operational runbooks. Enforce data protection, classification, and EU data residency requirements as part of platform design and operation. Stay updated on the latest AI security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies to ensure the organization's applications are protected against emerging threats. About you After a degree in computer science or comparable course of studies you gained several years of practical experience as an AI security expert. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
