The Opportunity We are currently seeking expressions of interest from motivated and high-performing Law Students who are looking to gain practical legal experience while completing their studies. This is a casual opportunity designed to complement your university commitments, with successful candidates available to work a minimum of three days per week . Opportunities may arise across a variety of practice groups and business units within the firm, providing valuable exposure to different areas of law and legal practice. As a Law Clerk at McInnes Wilson Lawyers, you will become part of a supportive and collaborative team, receive on-the-job training, and have the opportunity to learn from experienced Solicitors, Senior Associates, Special Counsel and Principals. You'll gain hands-on experience and develop the practical skills needed to build a successful legal career. Who We Are Seeking We're looking for enthusiastic and driven law students currently studying towards a Bachelor of Laws who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a professional environment. To be successful, you will demonstrate: Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities A high level of attention to detail Strong organisational and time-management skills The ability to work both independently and collaboratively Initiative, curiosity and a willingness to learn A professional and client-focused approach What You Will Be Doing Depending on the practice area and business unit, your responsibilities may include: Assisting solicitors and legal teams with a range of legal matters Conducting legal research and preparing summaries and reports Drafting legal correspondence and court-related documents Assisting with file management and matter administration Preparing briefs and supporting documentation Attending client meetings, conferences, mediations and court proceedings where appropriate Communicating with clients and other stakeholders via phone, email and in person Providing general support to legal practitioners in the conduct of their matters Why Join McInnes Wilson Lawyers?
