About the role EIS International Preschool is seeking an Early Years Mandarin Subject Teacher (Part-time) to join the team for the 2026-2027 academic year. This part-time role will primarily focus on morning teaching sessions. The school creates a learning space in nature to inspire children and foster proactive learning through teachers acting as facilitators. The curriculum is grounded in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, supporting an integrated approach to early learning and care. Key responsibilities Conduct dynamic and immersive Mandarin learning across various classes, creating a natural and encouraging environment that fosters children's listening and speaking skills. Design, prepare, and deliver engaging Mandarin activities tailored to different age groups and proficiency levels, working closely with class teachers to integrate language learning into ongoing classroom inquiries. Ensure all learning materials, resources, and learning areas are well-managed, inviting, organised, and safely presented. Assess and monitor students' progress through formal and informal observations, providing clear learning targets so every child can grow and succeed. Nurture meaningful, supportive relationships with students and their families, ensuring each child receives individual attention. Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, staff, and school management. Actively participate in school functions, including whole-school events, committees, professional development days, and extracurricular activities. Contribute to the ongoing progress and development of the school, specifically regarding the enhancement and planning of the Mandarin curriculum. About you A University degree and/or a recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education (such as a PGCE, BEd, or equivalent). Native-level Mandarin speaker and/or hold a recognised National Putonghua Proficiency Test certificate at Level 2, Grade A (二甲) or above. A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in an international preschool or kindergarten setting is highly preferred. Working knowledge and experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework is highly preferred. Previous experience working in nature-based or outdoor school environments is a distinct advantage. Must be a Hong Kong Permanent Resident or currently hold a valid Hong Kong work visa. Good verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to read and write in Traditional Chinese. A highly collaborative mindset, with a willingness to work closely alongside people from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. Strong interpersonal skills with a warm, approachable, and adaptable personality. A genuine love for the outdoors and a keen interest in facilitating nature-based activities.
