Are you a law student or recent law graduate looking to begin your legal career? Or are you an experienced paralegal looking for a sea change? Located in idyllic Hervey Bay, Bell Dixon Butler Lawyers is seeking a paralegal to join and support our family law team. While you will work predominantly in family law, you will also have opportunities to assist with domestic and family violence and child protection matters, as well as matters involving our Independent Children’s Lawyer. In this exciting and fast-paced role with one of the largest law firms on the Fraser Coast, your duties will include: drafting court documents, correspondence and other legal documents; attending court and client meetings with our solicitors; undertaking legal research; reviewing disclosure documents; and providing general support to our two experienced family law solicitors. Previous legal experience is not required, and comprehensive training will be provided in-house. The successful candidate will demonstrate: a genuine interest in family law; exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills; a proven history of providing excellent customer or client service; the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively; and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will also have the opportunity to become a Commissioner for Declarations. For the right candidate who has completed, or is completing, the necessary legal qualifications, the role may provide a pathway to becoming a family lawyer with the firm. Remuneration will be commensurate with your qualifications and experience. This is a rare opportunity to launch or develop your legal career with a family-friendly and inclusive regional law firm. We place equal importance on delivering timely, professional results for our clients and supporting a healthy work–life balance for our employees. To apply, please send a cover letter and résumé to David Buckley, Managing Director, at office@bdblawyers.com.au . Applicants who are currently studying law, or who completed their law degree within the past two years, should also provide a copy of their academic transcript.
