Wilson Contractors is a well-established civil construction company operating throughout Central Otago and the Southern Lakes region. We are seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our Queenstown workshop team and help keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of equipment while being part of a supportive team that values safety, quality workmanship, and professional development. About the Role As a Heavy Machinery Technician, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy and light vehicles, civil construction plant, and machinery. Your duties will include: Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing Diagnostic fault finding and repairs Servicing heavy diesel trucks, trailers, light vehicles earthmoving equipment and plant Breakdown support and emergency repairs as required Completing repair documentation and maintenance records Working closely with operators and workshop staff to minimise downtime Maintaining a safe and tidy workshop environment What We're Looking For We're keen to hear from candidates who are: Qualified Heavy Automotive Engineers or Diesel Mechanics Experienced in heavy vehicle, plant, agricultural, or construction machinery maintenance Mechanical fitters looking to broaden their experience Apprentices nearing completion of their qualification Reliable, motivated, and ready to get stuck in Able to work independently and as part of a team Committed to workplace health and safety Preferred but not essential: Class 2, 4 or 5 licence WTR and Forklift endorsement What We Offer · Competitive hourly rates based on experience · Guaranteed 40-50 hours per week · Monday to Friday with optional Saturday work · Work on a diverse range of well-maintained equipment · Ongoing training and development opportunities · Supportive team culture Why Queenstown?
