Here at The Maintenance Guys, we specialise in providing maintenance and renovation solutions for Auckland city apartments and surrounding suburbs. We're looking for a full-time, permanent Renovation Technician to join our Auckland team. We do lots of really cool stuff – transforming old and tired kitchens, bathrooms, and other living spaces into something great. We're a well-established company with a strong reputation for delivering a high standard of workmanship. All our work is indoors and often involves lifting and carrying building materials to site, so this role is best suited to someone who is physically fit and capable. Day-to-day responsibilities include: Liaise with the Project Manager, clients, suppliers, and other trades to plan and deliver property maintenance, renovation, and refurbishment projects. Review job sheets, apartment layouts, specifications, plans, and diagrams to determine materials, installation methods, and site requirements. Install, repair, and maintain interior fittings and fixtures including kitchens, vanities, cabinetry, doors, partition walls, and flooring using a range of building materials such as drywall, laminates, engineered timber, and composite products. Measure, cut, shape, and fit construction materials to complete repairs and installations. Assemble and install prefabricated or site-built components. Construct, install, or repair sub-flooring, floorboards, and framing as required. Communicate with office staff to ensure projects are completed on time and to company standards. Carry out general maintenance and repair work as required. Keep worksites clean, tidy, and safe at all times. Please note: This is a permanent, full-time employee position . Contractors, subcontractors, and self-employed applicants will not be considered. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens, permanent residents, or hold a valid work visa with the right to work in New Zealand. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for overseas applicants. At least 2 years' relevant or transferable experience in renovations, maintenance, or a related trade. Excellent communication skills. A positive attitude with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements (knowledge will be assessed during the interview process). Physically fit and able to safely lift and carry heavy materials. A current New Zealand driver's licence, or an equivalent overseas licence, as the role requires driving a company vehicle to transport tools, equipment, and materials.
