Novva is seeking an exceptionally experienced and internationally connected Senior Managing Director – Global Strategic Finance & Partnerships to play a pivotal role in advancing the Group’s global investment, financing and strategic partnership agenda. This is a senior executive position designed for a leader with 20+ years of international experience spanning cross-border financing, infrastructure and energy investment, climate finance, multilateral development institutions, and strategic business development. The successful candidate will combine deep financial expertise with an established international network across multilateral development banks , development finance institutions, government and public-sector stakeholders, global financial institutions, strategic investors and major corporates. The role will work directly with the Group CEO and senior leadership team to originate and structure strategic opportunities, mobilise international capital, establish institutional partnerships, and strengthen Novva’s position as a global energy and power infrastructure platform. Key Responsibilities 1. Global Strategic Finance & Capital Mobilisation Lead the development and execution of financing strategies for large-scale international energy, power infrastructure and related investment opportunities. Originate, structure and facilitate complex cross-border financing solutions involving commercial banks, institutional investors, MDBs, DFIs, climate funds and other international capital providers. Advise the Group CEO and Investment Committee on financing structures, capital strategy, bankability and transaction execution. Develop innovative financing structures combining commercial capital, development finance, concessional capital, climate finance and other blended-finance instruments. Support the Group in securing financing and strategic capital for major projects and investment platforms across Europe, Asia, Latin America and other priority markets. 2. Multilateral & Development Finance Partnerships Build and maintain senior-level relationships with major international financial and development institutions, including the World Bank Group, IFC, ADB, AFDB, EBRD, EIB and other relevant MDBs and DFIs. Position Novva and its projects for potential participation by MDBs, DFIs and international climate-finance institutions. Identify opportunities for project financing, guarantees, risk-sharing mechanisms, concessional funding, technical assistance and blended-finance programmes. Represent Novva in senior-level discussions with international financial institutions, governments and development agencies. 3. Climate Finance & Energy Transition Provide strategic leadership on climate finance, sustainable infrastructure financing and international energy-transition initiatives. Identify and access relevant international climate-finance mechanisms, including the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and other global climate-finance platforms. Integrate climate-finance considerations into project development, investment structuring and capital mobilisation strategies. Advise senior management on evolving global climate policies, sustainable-finance frameworks and their implications for Novva’s investment strategy. Strengthen Novva’s positioning within the international climate-finance and sustainable-infrastructure ecosystem. 4. Strategic Partnerships & Global Business Development Originate and develop high-value strategic relationships with international investors, infrastructure funds, utilities, energy companies, technology providers and industrial partners. Identify opportunities for joint ventures, strategic investments, project acquisitions, co-development and platform-level partnerships. Support market entry and strategic expansion into priority international markets. Act as a senior relationship owner for selected strategic counterparties and complex international negotiations. Leverage an established global network to create proprietary opportunities and accelerate transaction origination. 5. Europe Strategy & Market Development Serve as a senior strategic leader for Novva’s European market development. Provide deep market intelligence and strategic judgement on European energy, infrastructure, financing and investment environments. Develop relationships with European financial institutions, infrastructure investors, utilities, developers, governments and strategic partners. Support the identification and development of investment opportunities across key European markets. Bridge Novva’s Asian capabilities and capital relationships with European investment, financing and industrial ecosystems. Requirements 20+ years of senior-level international experience in project finance, structured finance, infrastructure investment, energy investment, development finance or related fields. Demonstrable track record of originating, structuring and/or facilitating multi-billion-dollar cross-border transactions, financing programmes or international projects. Extensive experience supporting Chinese or Asian enterprises in international expansion and overseas financing is highly desirable. Deep understanding of international infrastructure and energy financing, including project finance, structured finance, development finance and blended finance. Proven ability to operate effectively across developed and emerging markets. European Market Expertise Extensive professional or long-term living experience in Europe, with a sophisticated understanding of European business culture and institutional environments. Strong knowledge of European energy, infrastructure and capital markets. Established relationships within European financial, investment, governmental or industrial communities. Experience working across multiple European jurisdictions is strongly preferred. Education Master’s degree or above in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Energy, Climate Finance, International Business, Public Policy or a related discipline. Academic or professional training from a leading international university or institution is preferred. Advanced expertise in climate finance, sustainable finance or energy-transition investment would be a significant advantage. Languages Exceptional international communication and negotiation capabilities. Fluency in English is essential. Fluency in multiple European and/or Asian languages is highly desirable. Candidates capable of operating professionally across several languages and cultures will be strongly preferred.
