About Us Wandin Valley Farms is a family owned business and one of Australia's largest fresh cherry producers, with orchards in Victoria and Tasmania supplying local and export markets. About the Role Join Wandin Valley Farms as a skilled Farm Hand based in Boweya, Victoria, just outside Wangaratta. This is a casual position with up to full time hours available. For the right candidate, there is potential to transition into a permanent full time role. Remuneration will be based on skills and experience and paid in accordance with the Horticulture Award. Ideally you'll bring around two years experience at a primary producer, along with a chemical users permit and forklift licence but for the right person, we're happy to train you up. Key Responsibilities At a high level, the role will involve: Operating tractors, sprayers and slashers, with some heavy machinery may also be required Forklift work Assisting with general property maintenance, e.g. pruning, fencing and irrigation Assisting with activities during harvest Completing general tasks and supporting the Farm Manager and 2IC as required Participating in staff development as requested or required About You You must hold (or, for the right applicant, be willing to obtain): Current driver's licence Current forklift licence ACUP chemical users permit Heavy machinery tickets would be highly advantageous National Police Check Please note that successful candidate will be required to complete a police check prior to beginning employment. The successful candidate will: Have demonstrated experience using tractors and other machinery Possess excellent problem solving abilities Work well in a small team and on their own Have strong communication skills Be physically fit enough to complete labouring tasks Why Join Us?
