Our client is a well-known financial service company and they are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to cope with their business. Responsibilities Design and Implement Database Solutions Architect, deploy, and optimize enterprise database platforms and supporting infrastructure to meet performance, scalability, availability, and business objectives. Database Administration and Operations Manage the day-to-day administration of multiple database technologies, ensuring stable operations, data consistency, and adherence to operational standards. High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Security Develop and maintain robust backup, recovery, replication, failover, and security frameworks to safeguard critical business data and ensure service continuity. Performance Optimization and System Reliability Monitor database environments, analyze system behavior, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies to improve efficiency and capacity utilization. Platform Maintenance and Technical Support Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, patch management, and system enhancements while minimizing operational risk and service disruption. Collaboration and Technical Advisory Partner with application teams, infrastructure teams, and external vendors to provide database expertise, solution recommendations, and support for project delivery. Governance, Documentation, and Continuous Improvement Maintain technical documentation, establish operational procedures, provide knowledge sharing sessions, and evaluate emerging technologies to improve database services and operational practices. Requirements Educational Background Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Relevant Experience At least 7 years of hands-on experience managing enterprise database environments in a production support or database engineering capacity. Technical Expertise Strong working knowledge of one or more major database platforms such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DB2, MongoDB, ClickHouse, or similar technologies. Operating Systems Knowledge Experience supporting Unix/Linux-based environments, with exposure to AIX or comparable enterprise operating systems considered advantageous. Analytical and Troubleshooting Skills Demonstrated ability to investigate complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective long-term solutions. Communication and Teamwork Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Adaptability and Operational Commitment Self-motivated learner who can quickly acquire new technical skills and is willing to participate in after-hours, weekend, and on-call production support activities when required.
