About the role Account Assistant responsible for Account Payable journal booking, invoice processing, Account Payable closing and performing other Account Payable activities. Key responsibilities Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of Accounting Records, Audit Schedules and to resolve audit/accounting issues in timely manner Ensure accurate and timely posting of payable transactions to accounting system Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliation, investigate, and follow up to reduce discrepancies Perform reconciliation on balance sheet related accounts Maintain files and archived documents thoroughly and accurately, based on Company policies and accepted accounting practices Assist in month end closing and financial reporting Prepare accounting schedules, audit documentation, and supporting reports for external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, internal controls, and statutory requirements Liaise with auditors, bankers, suppliers, company secretary, tax agents, and government authorities on accounting-related matters Monitor and improve accounting processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy Maintain proper filing, documentation, and record retention in accordance with company policies and audit requirements. Support inventory, fixed assets, and intercompany reconciliations where applicable. Participate in system enhancements, accounting software upgrades, and process improvement initiatives. Requirements Account Assistant Candidate must possess a minimum Bachelor in Accountancy or equivalent. Fresh graduates with good attitude, committed and willing to learn, are encouraged to apply. Detail orientated, strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to deliver under pressure; self-motivated and proactive; able to work meticulously under tight deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office would be an added advantage. Good command of both spoken and written in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Experienced Account Assistant Degree in Accountancy or Professional qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA, CPA. Minimum 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing industry with minimum 3 years of working experience. Experience in handling Accounts Payable and General Ledger functions. Knowledge of accounting principles and month-end closing processes. Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis and reporting). Knowledge and hands-on experience in SAP ERP System is preferred but not required. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work independently with minimum supervision and meet tight deadlines. Experience in audit preparation and reconciliation work is an added advantage. Familiarity with SST, statutory compliance, and local accounting practices will be an advantage. Good command of both spoken and written in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
