Principal Software Development Engineer I Work location: Prasert – Manukitch Road, Nawamin, Khet Bueng Kum Bangkok Krung Thep Maha Nakhon [Bangkok] 10240, Thailand Reports to: Engineering Leadership / CTO Office Preferred Experience: 10 to 15 Years The Role The Principal Software Development Engineer I is a senior technical leader who sets architecture and engineering direction across multiple teams and engagements. The Principal SDE I tackles the company's most complex technical challenges, defines platform and solution architectures for enterprise AI systems in regulated environments, and elevates engineering capability across the firm. This is a hands-on technical leadership role with broad organisational influence. At the company, all engineers are expected to use AI tools effectively in their daily work. AI assistants and workflow automation tools are expected to improve engineering productivity, testing, debugging, documentation, and delivery execution. What You Will Do Define architecture and technical strategy across multiple engagements, platforms, and teams. Lead the design of complex, large-scale, secure production systems for regulated enterprise clients. Set engineering standards, reference architectures, and best practices adopted firm-wide. Provide deep technical leadership on the most challenging delivery and reliability problems. Partner with delivery leadership, architects, and senior client stakeholders on technical direction and proposals. Drive build-vs-buy, technology selection, and platform investment decisions. Mentor senior and staff engineers, and grow the technical bench across teams. Contribute reusable platforms, accelerators, and frameworks that scale delivery. Champion responsible, effective use of AI tools across engineering. What We Are Looking For 10 to 15 years of experience delivering and architecting production software at scale. Recognized depth in system design, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecture. Extensive AWS expertise, including security, networking, and enterprise deployment patterns. Track record setting technical direction across multiple teams or a business line. Experience in regulated industries (financial services, telco, insurance) is strongly valued. Strong influence, communication, and stakeholder leadership skills. Continued hands-on engineering credibility. What Sets You Apart You have owned architecture for mission-critical systems in regulated enterprises. Experience architecting AI/agentic platforms at scale. You have shaped engineering culture, standards, and reusable platforms across an organization. You are a recognized technical authority and mentor. Travel and Location The company's clients are based across Southeast Asia, ANZ, and Japan. Travel and onsite engagement requirements may vary depending on project needs. Relocation support may be considered based on business requirements. Language Fluency in spoken and written English is required across all markets. Strong communication skills are important for collaboration across engineering teams, delivery teams, and enterprise stakeholders. Certifications AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or DevOps Engineer Professional certifications are strongly valued.
