About the role Working on a family owned farm, the Livestock Manager looks after the day to day running of the sheep operation of 7500 Merino ewes in a self‑replacing flock, with the remainder joined to terminal sires for prime lamb production. You'll be involved in every stage of the yearly cycle, from joining and scanning through to lambing, weaning and shearing, as well as running the feedlot operations. Key responsibilities Managing animal nutrition, feed budgeting and supplementary feeding across all classes of stock Pasture and paddock management, including grazing rotations and pest and weed identification Managing the feedlot Animal health and husbandry, including disease and pest control, vaccinations and drafting Coordinating contractors for shearing, marking and scanning Maintaining accurate livestock records in Mobble, including movements, medication and stock reconciliation Supervising and training stockpersons, and planning ahead for key events such as shearing, scanning and weaning General plant, fencing and water maintenance relating to the livestock enterprise About you Approx 2 years' experience in a livestock management role, ideally in a self replacing Merino system Genuine low stress stock handling ability. The yards are quiet, with minimal yelling and minimal dog barking Lifetime Ewe Management course completion highly regarded Comfortable using ag technology such as EIDs, XR5000 and Mobble Well controlled working dogs a bonus Able to work unsupervised, plan ahead and communicate clearly with the Farm Owner Genuinely hands on.
