Plant Operator/Labourer - Civil Contracting

About the role King and Harding Pty Ltd is seeking a Plant Operator/Labourer - Civil Contracting to join our growing team in Devonport, TAS. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work on diverse civil contracting projects across the region. You will play a vital role in supporting our operations, operating plant and machinery whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and productivity on site. Key Resonsibilities Operating a variety of plant and machinery including excavators, rollers, loaders, and compaction equipment Assisting with site preparation, earthmoving, and general labouring duties as required Maintaining plant and equipment in good working condition and reporting any defects or mechanical issues Following all site safety protocols, procedures and work instructions, including the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Supporting the team with material handling, site cleanup, and general housekeeping Communicating effectively with site supervisors and team members to ensure efficient workflow Assisting with the setup and breakdown of work areas and equipment as needed What we're looking for Proven experience as a plant operator or labourer in civil construction, or a related field Valid driver's licence and ability to travel to various project sites Medium rigid truck licence or higher Current certification or willingness to obtain relevant plant operation licences (e.g. Excavator, Forklift, or similar) Experience with asphalt, two coat seal, concrete laying and formwork White Card Strong understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements and a commitment to safe work practices Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour and operate heavy machinery Excellent communication and teamwork skills Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic Ability to work under supervision and take direction First Aid certification is highly desirable What we offer King and Harding Pty Ltd is committed to supporting our employees with competitive remuneration and ongoing training.
