Field Assistant - Virginia

HB Group is currently recruiting on behalf of a State Government organisation for multiple Field Assistant positions to join the National Fire Ant Eradication Program , based at the Virginia Depot , commencing Friday, 28th August 2026 . Position Details Employer: State Government Organisation Location: Virginia Depot Pay: $34+ P/H Employment Type: Ongoing contract – no end date Start Date: Friday, 28th August 2026 Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (76-hour fortnight) Start Time: Between 6:30 am and 7:00 am Finish Time: Approximately 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm Please note: This is a full-time position, and start and finish times are not flexible. Working as part of a dedicated field team, you will travel to various locations each day to conduct inspections, apply treatments, and accurately record information using mobile technology. Key Responsibilities Drive to site locations (up to one hour from the depot) Conduct visual surveillance and bait treatments Collect accurate field data using a tablet Complete daily reports and maintain accurate records Work safely and effectively in a range of outdoor environments Contribute to the successful delivery of the National Fire Ant Eradication Program About You To be successful in this role, you will have: A current Australian Open C-Class Driver Licence The ability to work effectively within a team Strong communication and organisational skills Customer service experience (desirable) A high level of physical fitness, with the ability to walk 10–15 km per day across varying terrain The ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol Assessment The ability to obtain and pass a National Police Check Apply Now If you're looking for a rewarding long-term opportunity with excellent working conditions and the chance to make a genuine impact, we'd love to hear from you.
