We're currently looking for the right person to join our team in a Second-Hand Agricultural Parts Consultant role. This is a little different from your traditional parts position, and we're open-minded about where the right person might come from. We're ideally looking for someone who is mechanically minded, understands tractors and agricultural machinery, and is also comfortable dealing with customers and selling parts. The role could be an excellent fit for an agricultural mechanic or technician wanting to move away from being permanently on the tools, an experienced ag parts person with strong mechanical knowledge, or someone with agricultural machinery sales experience looking for a different challenge. The Role This is very much a mixture of customer service, sales and hands-on mechanical knowledge. The successful person will handle second-hand parts enquiries by phone, email and face-to-face, work out exactly what customers require, identify suitable components and follow the sale through. However, this isn't a sit-behind-a-desk-all-day parts role. An important part of the position is getting out into the yard and around our tractors and machinery, locating components and assessing second-hand parts to determine whether they are serviceable and suitable for resale. You'll work closely with our dismantling and workshop teams and, when required, assist with removing and preparing parts from machinery. The position includes: Selling second-hand agricultural and tractor parts to customers. Handling phone, email and face-to-face enquiries. Identifying parts and suitable alternatives. Assessing the condition and serviceability of second-hand components. Locating parts on tractors and machinery within the yard. Working with and assisting our dismantling and workshop teams. Helping remove parts from machinery when required. Identifying components including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, axles and associated tractor parts. Coordinating parts through dismantling, preparation and sale. Assisting with second-hand parts inventory and stock control. Organising freight and ensuring parts reach customers promptly. Building strong relationships with farmers, contractors, workshops and customers throughout New Zealand. Who Are We Looking For? Mechanical knowledge is the key. We're looking for someone who understands machinery and can combine that knowledge with good communication, common sense and a willingness to deal with customers. Parts or sales experience would ce1iainly be an advantage, but it isn't necessarily essential. If you're an experienced mechanic who can identify components, understand how they work and make a sensible assessment of their condition, we can help you develop the parts and sales side of the role. Likewise, if you already work in agricultural parts or machinery sales but miss the hands-on side of the industry, this could be a great fit. Ready for Something Different? For the right person, this is an opportunity to use years of mechanical or agricultural machinery knowledge in a different way - while remaining right in the middle of the industry. If this sounds like you, or you know somebody who could be a good fit, we'd be keen to have a confidential conversation. Why Choose R&S? We provide a supportive environment that promotes personal and professional development to ensure you have the skills and knowledge to succeed in your career. This is an excellent career opportunity for the right person, you will be working with the best products and brands in the market. We also provide: Options for up to 6 weeks of Annual Leave. At Repairs & Spares NZ, we believe in investing in our employees' futures. That's why we offer ongoing training and development opportunities, ensuring that you have all the tools you need to succeed and advance your career. Apply today and take the first step towards an exciting and rewarding future with us. Applicants may be progressed as they apply, so submit your application today!
