Job description: We are looking for a highly organized and analytical Ledger Specialist to support our Property Management Operations team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate resident account records and helping ensure financial transactions, certifications, and housing program requirements are properly documented and compliant. The ideal candidate is detail-driven, comfortable working with financial data, and experienced in affordable housing operations. You will work closely with Property Management, Compliance, Accounting, and Operations teams to investigate discrepancies, resolve account issues, and maintain accurate resident ledgers. What You’ll Do Review and maintain resident ledgers, including rent charges, subsidy allocations, payments, and account adjustments. Review HUD 50059 certifications and LIHTC transactions to identify errors and support regulatory compliance. Analyze accounts receivable aging reports and investigate discrepancies or unusual account activity. Research and resolve billing, payment, subsidy, and ledger-related issues. Process ledger corrections, adjustments, and supporting documentation using Yardi, RealPage, and FreshService. Assist with month-end close activities and ensure outstanding ledger issues are resolved promptly. Support HUD repayment agreements, voucher processing, and special claims documentation. Partner with cross-functional teams to research complex account issues and implement accurate resolutions. Maintain thorough documentation and follow established processes for financial and compliance-related activities. What You Bring Required Qualifications Experience in property management operations, preferably within Affordable Housing . Working knowledge of HUD 50059 and LIHTC/Tax Credit programs. Hands-on experience with Yardi and/or RealPage , particularly for resident ledgers, certifications, and affordable housing reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial records. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word . Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments and manage competing priorities. Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following areas is highly valued: Affordable housing or property management Leasing operations Mortgage processing Accounts receivable or financial operations Document verification or quality assurance Other roles requiring detailed financial or regulatory review If you have the affordable housing knowledge, systems experience, and attention to detail needed to keep complex resident accounts accurate and complaints, we encourage you to apply.
