C++ Developer, VP/Director Level Date posted: 12/08/2026 Job Type: Permanent Salary: $1400000-$2000000 Location: , Singapore, Hong Kong Director / Vice President - Senior C++ Engineer (Electronic Trading) Location: Hong Kong or Singapore About the Opportunity Our client is expanding its electronic trading technology team and is looking for outstanding C++ engineers who enjoy building highly scalable, performance-critical systems used in global financial markets. This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers, traders and quantitative professionals to develop sophisticated trading platforms that demand exceptional reliability, speed and engineering quality. Multiple headcounts within the team offer flexibility for experienced technical leaders as well as highly accomplished hands-on engineers. Depending on your experience and leadership background, the role can be hired at Vice President or Director level. What You'll Be Working On As a senior member of the engineering organisation, you'll play a key role in designing, building and evolving core trading technology that supports electronic execution across global markets. Responsibilities may include: Designing and developing high-performance applications using modern C++. Building resilient, low-latency distributed systems capable of operating in demanding production environments. Developing components supporting order execution, market connectivity, pricing, risk or real-time data processing. Improving application performance through profiling, optimisation and efficient system design. Working closely with quantitative researchers, traders and product stakeholders to deliver robust technology solutions. Driving architecture discussions and influencing technical standards across engineering teams. Contributing to the evolution of software development practices, automation, testing and platform reliability. Investigating complex production issues and continuously improving system stability and operational excellence. Candidates joining at Director level may also: Provide technical leadership across multiple engineering initiatives. Mentor senior engineers and help develop technical talent across the organisation. Lead major platform modernisation projects and long-term engineering strategy. Partner with global technology leadership on architectural direction and delivery priorities. What We're Looking For We're interested in engineers who enjoy solving difficult technical problems and building systems where performance, reliability and scalability are equally important. Successful candidates will typically demonstrate: Strong commercial experience developing software in modern C++. Deep understanding of multi-threaded programming, memory management and concurrent system design. Experience building distributed applications with high throughput and low latency requirements. Excellent debugging, performance tuning and software engineering skills. Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and real-time communication protocols. Experience working within Linux development environments. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A collaborative approach with a passion for engineering excellence. Preferred Experience While not essential, experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous: Electronic trading, capital markets or financial technology. Order management, execution platforms or market data infrastructure. Exchange connectivity, messaging technologies or financial protocols. Performance optimisation for latency-sensitive applications. Cloud-native infrastructure, containerisation or modern DevOps practices. CI/CD, automated testing and observability tooling.
