HVAC Refrigeration Technician / Heat pump Installer

About the role Hanson Heating is seeking an HVAC Refrigeration Technician / Heat Pump Installer to join our growing team in Rotorua, Central Bay of Plenty. This is a full-time position that plays a important role in delivering high-quality heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration services to our residential and commercial clients. As a skilled technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems, with a particular focus on modern heat pump technology. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects whilst contributing to the comfort and efficiency of our clients' properties. Key responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair ventilation systems and heat pump installations to the highest industry standards Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults in heating and cooling systems Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance on air conditioning and ventilation systems Perform heat pump installations for both residential and commercial properties Liaise with clients to understand their heating and cooling requirements and provide appropriate solutions Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and time spent on each job Contribute to a culture of safety on job sites and within the workshop What we're looking for Proven experience working as an HVAC Technician or similar role in the air conditioning and ventilation industry Competency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment such as manifold gauges and multimeters Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach Ability to work independently and as part of a team Commitment to health and safety standards and best practice Experience with modern heat pump technology and installation is highly desirable What we offer At Hanson Heating, we value our team and invest in their professional development and wellbeing.
