The Senior Finance Manager is responsible for leading the finance function of the Telco business in Malaysia, ensuring robust financial control, accurate and timely financial reporting, and sound commercial decision support. The role combines strong technical accounting expertise with commercial acumen and people leadership to drive profitable growth, safeguard the integrity of financial statements, and partner closely with the CFO and business leadership team on strategic and operational finance matters. Responsibilities Lead, coach and develop the finance team, building capability in technical accounting, commercial finance and business partnering to support the growth of the Telco business. Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with MFRS/IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements. Ensure the integrity of the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, revenue recognition and cost accounting processes specific to the telco business model. Partner with the CFO and senior management to provide commercial insights, financial analysis and decision support on pricing, product profitability, partner/wholesale agreements and new business initiatives. Lead the budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes, tracking performance against targets and identifying risks and opportunities. Strengthen internal controls, governance and compliance frameworks, and act as the key liaison for external auditors, tax agents and regulatory bodies (e.g. MCMC, LHDN, SSM). Manage cash flow, working capital and treasury activities to ensure the business meets its financial obligations and optimizes liquidity. Drive continuous improvement of finance systems, processes and reporting tools to improve efficiency, accuracy and business insight. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIMA, MICPA). Minimum 8-10 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 3-5 years in a finance leadership role, ideally within telecommunications or a fast-paced commercial environment. Strong technical accounting knowledge, including MFRS/IFRS, revenue recognition, financial reporting, budgeting and internal controls. Proven commercial acumen with experience in business partnering, pricing analysis, profitability management and financial modelling. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, with experience building, coaching and developing high-performing finance teams. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively with the CFO and senior leadership. High level of integrity, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and sound business judgement. Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel/financial modelling skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) is an advantage. Prior experience in the telecommunications industry, or a subscription-based, high-volume transaction business. Experience working with regulatory bodies such as MCMC or in a regulated industry. Exposure to system implementation or finance transformation projects Experience working in a multinational or matrixed organization. Familiarity with Malaysian tax and statutory compliance requirements.
