At the tip of Cape York, one school serves five communities across three campuses. Here, relationships matter, teachers become part of the community and their contribution is felt well beyond the classroom. Northern Peninsula Area State College provides Kindergarten to Year 12 education for the communities of Bamaga, Injinoo, Umagico, New Mapoon and Seisia. The school brings together strong Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and connections to Country. We're seeking primary, secondary and special education teachers for 2026 and 2027 opportunities. What we offer Teachers at Northern Peninsula Area State College can access a range of rural and remote incentives and benefits, including: generous financial incentives relocation and travel assistance subsidised departmental housing professional development and career progression opportunities. Eligible teachers may also be able to access additional grants and a reduction of their HELP debt. Teaching at Northern Peninsula Area State College Kindergarten to Year 6 education is delivered at Ama Mary Eseli Injinoo and Bamaga Junior campuses. Students in Years 7 to 12 attend Bamaga Senior Campus. You'll have the opportunity to build strong relationships with students, families and communities while developing your teaching practice in a culturally rich setting. We're looking for teachers who are adaptable, committed to student success and ready to listen, learn and contribute to the community. Graduate, beginning and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply. Living in the Northern Peninsula Area The Northern Peninsula Area is remote, culturally rich and strongly connected. Teachers are encouraged to take part in community life, learn from local people and build relationships that strengthen their work in the classroom. The region is accessible by air throughout the year, with regular return flights from Cairns. Teacher housing and relocation support are available to help make the move. What you'll need Applicants must have: a relevant teaching qualification full or provisional registration with the Queensland College of Teachers, or eligibility to obtain registration Australian working rights or an appropriate visa.
