THE CHINESE MEDICINE HOSPITAL OF HONG KONG The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK) is a flagship Chinese medicine (CM) institution leading the development of CM in Hong Kong. Controlled by the Health Bureau and operated under a public-private partnership model, CMHHK was financed by the HKSAR Government, which selected Hong Kong Baptist University as the contractor through tendering procedures in 2021. HKBU incorporated the HKBU Chinese Medicine Hospital Company Limited as the operator to manage, operate and maintain the hospital. Since commencing phased services in December 2025, CMHHK offers comprehensive CM care ranging from primary, secondary to tertiary services, and promotes advanced and specialised CM treatments. As a pioneer in integrated Chinese-western medicine (ICWM), CMHHK addresses diverse patient needs through inpatient, day-patient, outpatient and community-based services. With 65% of services government-subsidised and the remainder market-oriented, the hospital ensures accessible healthcare while meeting the diverse needs of the community. With a strong commitment to education, training, innovation and research—including collaboration with local and overseas universities to advance evidence-based clinical studies and develop CM theories and clinical applications—CMHHK is now looking for the following talent to join our team. Analyst Programmer (Application Systems) (26112) Responsibilities: Reporting to the System Analyst (Application Systems), the Analyst Programmer (Application Systems) will analyse, design, and implement IT systems and solutions to meet CMHHK’s business requirements and enhance operational efficiency. • Elicit Stakeholder Feedback: Assist in conducting user requirements workshops, interviews, and surveys to gather feedback, clarify requirements, and prioritise system features and enhancements; • Develop Business Processes: Assist in creating business processes that align with on-the-ground operations and are implementable on the HIS, its sub-systems, and other systems, ensuring compliance with CMHHK policies; • Prepare Documentation: Create technical documentation, functional specifications, user stories, system architecture diagrams, and system design specifications to communicate system requirements, workflows, and technical details to developers and stakeholders; • Conduct Assessments: Perform system assessments, feasibility studies, and gap analyses to identify system deficiencies, recommend enhancements, and streamline business workflows; • Coordinate Development Activities: Oversee system development activities, data migration processes, and system testing procedures to ensure seamless integration of new systems with existing infrastructure and operations; • Conduct Testing: Perform system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and quality assurance (QA) to verify system functionality, performance, and data integrity before deployment; • Document Configurations: Record system configurations, data models, interface specifications, and system dependencies to support system maintenance, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer; • Assist in Implementation: Support system implementation, deployment, and configuration changes to ensure successful rollouts and user adoption; • Provide Post-Implementation Support: Offer post-implementation support, system training, and documentation updates to address user feedback, resolve issues, and optimise performance; • Perform On-Call Duties: Provide on-call support to address urgent IT issues; • Monitor Performance: Track system performance metrics, logs, and user feedback to identify bottlenecks, performance issues, and optimisation opportunities; • Analyse System Usage: Study system usage patterns, trends, and capacity planning to optimise resources, scalability, and reliability; and • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of the Department or his/her delegates. Requirements: • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related disciplines; • At least 6 years of relevant work experience in IT system development; • Experience in Chinese Medicine clinics, hospitals, or a healthcare setting is preferred; • Good understanding of hospital clinical and non-clinical processes is essential; • Knowledge of healthcare information systems and standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, DICOM) is essential; • Experience with core clinical systems (e.g., Hospital Information Systems) is essential; • Experience with clinical sub-systems (e.g., Radiology Information System, Picture Archiving & Communication System, Electronic Health Record Sharing System, Mortuary Body Tagging System, Autonomous Mobile Robots System, Queue Display & Management System, Endoscopy System, Laboratory Information System) is preferred; • Solid experience with system modelling tools, requirements-gathering techniques, and system development methodologies; • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java. JavaScript, Python), development frameworks (e.g., Tomcat, React, Note.js, Spring, IIS, Visual Studio, VB.net), data management systems (e.g., MongoDB, SQL Server) and software development methodologies; • Knowledge of other relevant tools (e.g., Business Intelligence System, Robotic Process Automation System, API Management System) is a bonus; • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail; and • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and users.
