Finance Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join Fidentem New Zealand, a specialist independent fiduciary and corporate services provider with an international presence. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a broad standalone finance role offering ownership of the New Zealand finance function while working closely with the wider global business. You will be responsible for the financial management of the New Zealand office, alongside overseeing accounting services provided to a diverse portfolio of trusts, companies and limited partnerships. As a key member of the management team, you will partner closely with local leadership and Group Finance, ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting and exceptional client service within a collaborative and professional environment. The Finance Manager role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys autonomy, variety and the opportunity to work across both operational finance and client accounting within a highly respected specialist business. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of the Finance & Accounting function for the New Zealand business. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for both local management and Group Finance. Manage budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management and variance analysis. Oversee accounts receivable, invoicing, payroll, creditors and office financial administration. Prepare annual financial statements, GST, FBT and income tax returns across multiple entities. Coordinate year-end audit processes and act as the key liaison with external auditors. Manage accounting responsibilities across trusts, companies, private trust companies and limited partnerships. Partner closely with the Group Finance team to ensure timely reporting and effective financial processes. Maintain strong internal controls while identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and operational efficiencies. Act as the key finance contact for internal stakeholders, external providers and clients while delivering exceptional client service. Key Requirements CA, CPA or ACCA qualified. Approximately eight or more year's post-qualification experience within a standalone or senior finance role. Previous experience within financial services, professional services, trust administration or a client accounting environment. Strong technical accounting capability, including statutory reporting, tax compliance and audit management. Experience preparing annual financial statements and coordinating external audits. Knowledge of trust, company and limited partnership accounting will be highly regarded. Proven ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships. Strong attention to detail, commercial judgement and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Experience using MYOB or similar accounting systems.
