What you'll be doing Preparing shipping documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists and customs declarations Processing import and export shipments whilst ensuring full compliance with customs regulations and trade requirements Coordinating with shipping lines, freight forwarders and customs brokers to arrange transportation Maintaining accurate records of all shipping transactions and shipment status Tracking and monitoring shipments throughout transit to ensure timely delivery Communicating with customers and internal teams regarding shipment updates and delivery schedules Verifying shipping invoices and ensuring proper coding and allocation of charges Assisting with customs clearance procedures and resolving any customs-related issues Performing data entry and maintaining organised filing systems for shipping documentation Supporting the logistics team with ad-hoc duties as required What we're looking for Proven experience working as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role within import/export operations Solid understanding of customs procedures, export regulations and international trade documentation Proficiency in shipping software and systems, with strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Excellent organisational abilities with strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure Knowledge of Incoterms and shipping practices is advantageous Familiarity with Hong Kong customs procedures is highly desirable Team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving Secondary school education or equivalent; professional qualifications in logistics or customs are preferred
