Application Support

About the role We are looking for an Application Support Engineer to provide first- and second-level support for business-critical applications operating within a secure, air-gapped and restricted-network environment. The role will be responsible for application monitoring, incident triage, basic troubleshooting, operational support, deployment activities and maintaining detailed documentation in accordance with strict security, change management and audit requirements. Key responsibilities Provide L1/L2 application support for business-critical applications within an air-gapped environment Identify and triage application issues including service outages, performance degradation, error messages and login/access problems Monitor application and platform health using on-premises/local monitoring tools and escalate anomalies according to incident procedures Perform basic operational activities such as service restarts, log checks, resource checks and application health checks Assist with approved transfer of code releases, patches and logs across the air gap using controlled mechanisms such as removable media, data diodes or transfer stations Support application deployments and version upgrades in offline or restricted-network environments by following approved runbooks Assist with basic root-cause investigation by collecting logs, reproducing issues and documenting findings for development and platform teams Maintain and update support documentation, operational runbooks and knowledge base articles Support user access management, environment configuration and minor data fixes where required Participate in incident, problem and change management processes About you Basic hands-on familiarity with Linux / RHEL environments Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift environments Basic SQL skills for querying data and troubleshooting application/data issues General understanding of application architecture, including frontend, backend and API interactions Familiarity with ITIL processes, particularly Incident, Problem and Change Management Understanding of basic application troubleshooting, log analysis and system health checks Strong documentation skills and ability to maintain accurate operational records Good communication and stakeholder management skills Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict technical procedures and operational runbooks Comfortable working within high-security, controlled-access environments
