The employer Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Forklift Mechanic to join a professional team in Christchurch. About the role You will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing equipment while providing a high standard of technical support and customer service. Key duties: Diagnostics, servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance across a range of forklifts and materials handling equipment Working on counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, stock pickers, and specialist equipment Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems Attending field service calls across Christchurch at logistics, manufacturing and industrial sites Completing workshop-based repairs and servicing Responding to breakdowns and carrying out repairs efficiently Providing professional technical advice and customer service Maintaining accurate service records and ensuring all work meets required standards What we're looking for While experience with electric forklifts (IE) is beneficial, the priority is a technician with a strong mechanical foundation and proven diagnostic and repair ability. Diesel Mechanic or relevant automotive/mechanical trade qualification Proven experience working on materials handling or heavy equipment Experience across IC and IE forklifts would be advantageous Strong mechanical, hydraulic and diagnostic skills Ability to work independently without supervision Full, clean driver's licence Strong focus on safety, quality and customer service Positive, professional, and team-oriented approach What's on offer This is an opportunity to join an employer that genuinely invests in its people and offers the stability of a long-term career.
