CNC Grinder & CNC Setter/Operator Christchurch | Multiple Opportunities | $30–$42 per hour Join a growing Christchurch precision manufacturer producing high-performance camshafts and engine components for customers worldwide. We are recruiting for two permanent CNC opportunities: CNC Grinder/Operator: $35–$42 per hour CNC Setter/Operator: $30–$40 per hour CNC Grinder/Operator $35–$42 per hour Shift options: 10:00am–6:30pm 12:00pm–8:30pm This is the priority vacancy and would suit an experienced CNC grinder or precision machinist with relevant cylindrical, external or form-grinding experience. Direct camshaft-grinding experience would be highly regarded, but it is not essential. Candidates with a strong precision-machining foundation and transferable grinding capability may be trained on specialist CNC camshaft-grinding equipment. Your responsibilities may include: Setting and operating CNC grinding machinery Monitoring grinding processes and making adjustments Entering and adjusting machine offsets Reading and interpreting engineering drawings Measuring and inspecting precision components Maintaining consistency and tight tolerances Identifying quality or process issues Supporting continuous improvement CNC Setter/Operator $30–$40 per hour Monday–Friday | 8:00am–4:30pm, with some flexibility This position would suit someone with a solid CNC machining foundation who can complete machine setups from established setup sheets and produce precision components consistently. Programming experience would be beneficial but is not essential at the outset. Your responsibilities may include: Setting and operating CNC machinery Completing machine setups and job changeovers Selecting tools and entering offsets Following setup sheets and established programs Reading engineering drawings Measuring and inspecting completed components Troubleshooting machining issues Supporting process and productivity improvements What We’re Looking For Depending on the role, you will ideally bring experience in some of the following areas: CNC setting and operating CNC cylindrical, external, form or surface grinding CNC milling, turning or mill-turn machining Engineering drawing interpretation Precision measuring and inspection Tool selection, offsets and workholding Working to tight tolerances CNC programming or program editing Troubleshooting and problem-solving Just as importantly, you will be someone who communicates well, takes pride in your work and contributes positively to the wider team.
