About the role The People Services Manager, Payroll, is responsible for leading the payroll delivery team within the HR Shared Services Hub. This role oversees the execution of payroll operations and leave and time & attendance processing across the company business units. The manager ensures accurate, timely, and compliant service delivery, while driving process improvements, team development, and stakeholder collaboration. The role plays a key part in supporting the Payroll & Rewards Delivery Lead in delivering operational excellence across the function. Key responsibilities Manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple jurisdictions, including data validation, gross-to-net calculations, statutory deductions, and disbursements Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and internal controls Oversee payroll transactions such as onboarding setup, salary adjustments, leave encashment, and termination payouts Coordinate with Finance and HR teams for payroll reconciliation, funding, and reporting Manage end-to-end processing of leave requests, entitlements, and balances in HR systems Oversee time & attendance data collection, validation, and integration with payroll Lead and manage a team of payroll specialists, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management Drive standardization and automation of payroll processes to improve efficiency and reduce risk Partner with relevant COEs, P&C Business Partners, Finance, and IT to ensure smooth execution of payroll activities Respond to employee and manager issues or escalations and ensure timely and accurate processing of requests in line with SLAs About you Bachelor's degree in human resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field 5–7 years or above of work experience in payroll operations, with at least 3 years and above in a supervisory or managerial role of team size of minimum 8 and above Proven experience in payroll validation, reconciliation, payroll reporting, audit support and ensuring payroll compliance & accuracy Familiar with Time & Attendance system, including roster management and OT calculations Hands-on experience in Annual tax filling, and statutory submission Strong understanding of payroll, time & attendance systems, and HRIS platforms (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Workday) Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills Strong in numerical, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills High integrity and attention to detail, with the maturity to manage sensitive and confidential data Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese/Cantonese, with the ability to engage cross-functional stakeholders
